A judge rained on Donald Trump’s crime crackdown parade when she released from a youth holding facility two teens charged in connection with the alleged assault of a former DOGE staffer.

3. There are certainly oddities there. For example, in one version the dude was assaulted while

stepping in to help "a woman"; in another version, she was with him as his date. Then again, it's not so clear who was there when: the police appeared almost immediately, but one of the dude's friend's showed up in time to photograph dude sitting on the sidewalk with his shirt half off and with bright red smears on his face, side, and pants. Despite breathless reports that dude was mercilessly beaten to a pulp, some stories indicate no hospitalization followed, suggesting very limited pulping (if any)

So it seems like it could be an important story, but not really so much if it's a random garden-variety street crime.

A presumption of course, but given this administration's penchant for hiring fellow degenerates, I feel safe in my guess. And given my "irresponsible speculation" doesn't affect public opinion or even change the taste of mustard, I'm not gonna worry too much about it.
