On general strikes and billionaires

Question: Have you seen Dem elected officials calling for a general strike? We've all heard the term and keep being told that's the only thing that will work but most of us can't quite envision what that would look like in the US in 2025. A 1-3 strike is not likely to break the back of authoritarianism. I've been reading a lot about it but it remains a nebulous concept because the US is unique and everything is different in 2025. It will remain nebulous without clear leadership for it. Not to mention that so many, if not most, people are exhausted and impoverished (by design), and thus this idea is terrifying.

What I'd love to see is the uber wealthy Dem leaders (like Pritzker) start to coalesce around this idea and talk about how it would look. And how they, the uber wealthy and billionaires, can help the most vulnerable survive such an action.

Would I would REALLY, REALLY love to see is billionaires like Pritzker, Cuban and even billionaire celebs like Swift, invest so much of their money in truly helping people survive and creating the means to thrive that they are no longer billionaires. The existence of billionaires in a world full of suffering is grotesque and obscene to me.

If Pritzker would announce he is personally doing this, that and the other to provide an oxygen mask for the most vulnerable under fascism to remove himself from billionaire status, he'd be elected in a landslide and might encourage others who are egomaniacs at heart to follow suit. So long as they are truly being helpers to get us out of this nightmare and prevent it from happening again, I don't care why they do it. Votes, adulation, legacy, I don't care. Working to destroy their own class would go a long way toward shifting our trajectory on this planet.

(I'm fully aware many are rolling their eyes, thinking no uber wealthy person will ever do anything against their own self-interest. I realize it sounds naive, so no need to chime in with the obligatory cynicism though I can't stop you. lol)
