Two monkeys were paid unequal wages...an old video from the TED series.

What happens when two monkeys are paid unequally? Fairness, reciprocity, empathy, cooperation -- caring about the well-being of others seems like a very human trait. But Frans de Waal shares some surprising videos of behavioral tests, on primates and other mammals, that show how many of these moral traits all of us share.

My other abrasive, pithy observation is that if the first caveman that said he wanted to be king should have been beaten in the head with a rock by the others around him. This process should have continued through history until that desire was out of our gene pool.
Finally, there is a documentary called "Stress, a Portrait of a Killer" by NatGeo. In the documentary, they measure stress hormones of baboons of different "rank" and lower "rank" have shorter life spans and worse health due to stress and the same occurs in humans. But one tribe of baboons, all the adult males were killed and the stress levels of the entire group went down. So going forward the females wouldn't allow the males to have that control.
END THE OLIGARCHY. Tax or exile the wealthy.
