For me it is not so much the age--although that is a factor.
I just think that he should give others a chance at being a Senator, as he has had this role for over 40 years and it will be more by the end of his next term--if he outlasts it.

(22,997 posts)Term limits may make sense for the executive branch, but when it comes to the legislature, I'd prefer to leave the matter entirely to the voters.

Once one was termed out, the oligarchs would just pick a successor who would receive all their millions.

It's amazing how quickly we (or some of us) are willing to jettison the democratic process - when it does not deliver the results we wish for.
