Spoken like an old-style GOP pol, and a very successful one at that. That comment is a couple of minutes in. What do you think?

(17,911 posts)We've got a lot of ground to make up, so we need to do whatever we can (legally, of course) to get folks registered and to the polls. They should get right on that!

(4,611 posts)...I wish he'd pony up some cash to our local organization. We're struggling to pay rent and expenses on our very modest office. If we didn't have volunteer voter registrars, we wouldn't have any voter registration at all. They say Dems are out of touch...HE's out of touch with the realities on the ground. Local parties are struggling!

(100,133 posts)If we are having difficulties NOW, why arent we using it NOW in ways known to be effective? If local parties are struggling, why is National not coming up with plans for disbursing money in very specific and targeted ways?
I think it is a good point.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
