I'm not an Abrego Garcia scholar. I don't know his life inside and out. But this obsession, this vendetta, is ridiculous

Noem makes my skin crawl...from shooting her puppy and a goat in the gravel pit to her spread-eagle antics with Trump's shaved ape knuckle dragging punk-assed thug Lewandowski.

But this Abrego Garcia thing reeks of the stench of desperation...a pathological need to prove that a 79 year old adjudicated rapist and convicted felon is keeping America "safe" from people like Garcia.

Meanwhile, "white collar crime" will never see the inside of a courthouse while this pig is in power. And, odds are 50-50 AT MINIMUM that he'll pardon Ghislane Maxwell.

Abrego Garcia has been taken into custody by ICE, his lawyer says
From CNN’s Priscilla Alvarez and Michael Williams

Kilmar Abrego Garcia was taken into custody by Immigration and Customs Enforcement shortly after turning himself in, his lawyer said.

“Mr. Abrego Garcia was taken into custody by ICE this morning,” attorney Simon Sandoval-Moshenberg told a crowd outside an ICE facility in Baltimore, where he was ordered to report after being released from custody pending a trial on federal charges.

US Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said Abrego Garcia is being processed for deportation.

“Today, ICE law enforcement arrested Kilmar Abrego Garcia and are processing him for deportation,” Noem said on X.

Isn't it likely that this is because their trafficking case is so bad/weak?

He is the living embodiment of Trump being wrong AND multiple people in the Clustertrump swore he’d never be allowed to stay in this country. Dear Leader can never be wrong you know.

So they whisk him away so there are no interviews and the case never has to go to trial.

This country is being led by someone that would have already been court ordered into a nursing home. I have unfortunately been around this my entire life. Demand his medical records. They were projecting tRump's dementia onto Biden to make it alright for them to actually do it.

He came to this country at 16.
He was deported to an El Salvadoran prison by an administration mistake.
After a month in that prison, a judges ordered his returned to US.
Where he was arrested and charged with trafficking.
He was offered a plea agreement with deportation to Costa Rica.
He refused the deal.
The main witness against him is a three time convicted felon who will not be deported in exchange for his testimony.
Garcia was arrested today when he showed up for his immigration hearing.
The government is now trying to deport him to….Uganda?
WTF?

But Trump, who has been adjudicated as a rapist and indicted and convicted as a fraud, will sue anyone that calls him a rapist. That simple. Abrego Garcia doesn’t have a lot of money so they can call him anything they want in public. The Attorney General calls him a wife beater, and a smuggler with no evidence. The case against him was dropped, and they’ve never actually charged him with smuggling, as far as I know. they are obsessed with him because he speaks Spanish and they can’t stand that

SCOTUS said Trump can deport people to Uganda. Unfortunately, Trump is going to make an example of him. It seems like immigrants have very few rights these days.

I wish him well, but I'm not optimistic.

Costa Rica said he would live freely and would be given refugee status.
If he is deported to Uganda, but can still go to Costa Rica after he is deported, I guess it's worth the fight.

Over the weekend, his lawyers accused the Trump administration of seeking to “coerce” a guilty plea from him on the charges of human smuggling that were brought against him in an indictment in June.

The lawyers said that the administration had promised to send him to Costa Rica, where he could live freely as a legal resident, if he pleaded to the charges and agreed to serve whatever prison sentence he eventually received. Otherwise, the lawyers said, Trump officials said they would deport Mr. Abrego Garcia “halfway across the world” to Uganda, where, the lawyers said, “his safety and liberty would be under threat.”

They arrested a man under false pretenses, because they're hell-bent on reaching some deportation quota. His arrest, and the response to it, exposed them. There has been tons of outrage over it, and rather than admit fault, they've been doubling down, tripling down, quadrupling down, turning him into the villain. They're doing everything they can to make Mr. Garcia pay for their fuck-up, and they're getting off on his suffering to boot, because they're a bunch of sadistic fucks.

His acolytes fucked up and sent an innocent man to a max security hellhole in El Salvador - a bureaucratic mistake, basically. So they have had to manufacture reasons for not accepting him back - "it's not up to us" (it was), and then why he's a Bad Man (he was a gang member, because he had a tattoo, or he was "smuggling people" ) who deserves to be in prison, Uganda etc.

because that would threaten their ideology. Think Adolf Euchmann, a drap and colorless little man who sent thousands to die.

If you want to understand what happens to people who get caught up in this unnecessary bullshit, I suggest you read this book, it's a total gem about how a nobody (which Garcia would seem to be) becomes a focal point for their insanity.

https://www.msnbc.com/deadline-white-house/deadline-legal-blog/kilmar-abrego-garcia-criminal-case-pam-bondi-rcna226934

But a court filing from Abrego’s lawyers over the weekend shows that the administration has taken its vengeance to a new level. According to the filing, on Thursday — the day before he would be released — the government told his counsel that if he agreed to stay in custody and plead guilty, then he could be deported to Costa Rica after he serves whatever sentence the court would impose. Like El Salvador, Costa Rica is a Spanish-speaking country in Central America.....

After his release, an immigration official said the government now wants to deport him to the African nation of Uganda. He was ordered to report to a Baltimore immigration office on Monday morning and was given until then either to accept the Costa Rica deal “or else that offer will be off the table forever,” Abrego’s lawyers wrote in the Saturday filing......

I should note that in criminal cases across the country — ones you’ve never heard of and never will — prosecutors make plea offers that force defendants to make choices that would put them in bad situations immediately to avoid worse fates down the line. Against that backdrop, it’s unsurprising that most cases don’t go to trial. In the ones that do, defendants who are convicted face greater punishment than they would have faced had they pleaded guilty, a phenomenon that’s been called “the trial penalty.” So at least from the defense’s vantage point, there’s an element of legalized coercion baked into the system.

In that light, it’s understandable that not everyone sees American justice as a righteous concept to begin with. But it can always be further degraded.

The Trump administration seems hellbent on such degradation. Having embarrassed itself with the illegal removal of Abrego and failure to quickly fix it, it’s now acting as a sort of dystopian travel agent in a desperate bid to avoid a criminal case that it didn’t have to bring in the first place.

Rather than ensuring that Abrego “face justice,” as Bondi proclaimed upon his U.S. return, the government appears to be trying to save face. No matter what happens next, that won’t be possible in the eyes of people who’ve been paying attention. The damage to American justice has been done.
