Ding Dong, the Witch is dead, the Wicked Witch... James Dobson dead at 89. I grew up under his teachings and,

why I didn't wish him death, I will not celebrate his life either. His books held a prominent place on my parent's bookshelf and his teachings of legalism and authoritarianism -- particularly in parenting -- left scars in my life that are still visible today. Fortunately, they moved beyond this later in life, but the damage was done.

With Christians like Dobson, who needs Satanists?

*** SARCASM *** as the Satanists don't believe in the legalistic, hurtful garbage Dobson preached.

On Abortion: Early in his career, Dobson was, like most evangelicals, indifferent—writing that the Bible was largely silent on the issue. But in the 1980s, he realized it was the golden goose of outrage politics, so suddenly he became a staunch crusader. Not because of his beliefs—because it paid, and led to more power.

The fundamentalists found the vending machine of evangelical rage, hit the abortion button, and watched the donations fall out.
