25. Democracy Isn't Dead

I hear your frustration, but calling the U.S. a fascist dictatorship just isn’t accurate, and I believe only fuels despair. Elections are still competitive, courts still rule against those in power, and Congress, however messy, still debates and passes laws. That’s not what dictatorship looks like.

It’s true that past struggles for democracy, civil rights, Vietnam, labor movements, cost lives. But history also shows we’ve come out stronger because people stayed engaged, organized, and refused to give up. Violence wasn’t the ONLY path; persistence mattered even more.

Please don’t make yourself sick over this. Democracy is under strain, but it’s still alive. The fact that we can openly disagree, protest, and vote proves the door is still open; and worth defending.

It is always a fight for us and it always will be. We need someone to step up and Newsom is the one right now. IMO, he is perfect for the task: handsome, a leader of a huge state that actually sets trends in this country and I think a good guy but not so good he won't fight it out with Trump.
