In my view, the US is functionally a fascist dictatorship

The guardrails are almost entirely dismantled.

O have no faith in the election system, even as blue states will, no doubt, follow the rules and run honest voting.

The Supreme Court is partisan, in support of the dictator.

Mike Johnson is all you need to know about legislative branch.

Honestly I see no way back to a democracy that doesn't involve loss of lives.

This makes me sick.

The whole point of fascism is to make money. Fascism is employed when liberal democracy threatens profits. It is always a giant grift.

A new book, Nazi Billionaires, investigates how Germany’s richest business dynasties made fortunes by aiding and abetting Adolf Hitler’s Third Reich. It also examines how, eight decades later, they still escape close scrutiny and a nation that has done so much to confront its catastrophic past still suffers a very particular blind spot.

“What struck me was this is a country that’s so cognizant of its history in many ways but seemingly the most economically powerful actors do not engage with that,” says author David de Jong, a 35-year-old Dutchman. “That was the reason why I wrote the book. It’s an argument in favour of historical transparency.”

The former reporter for Bloomberg News examines German companies that own beer brewers and wine producers as well as famous US brands such as Krispy Kreme and Pret A Manger. But he casts an especially harsh light on car makers led by household names such as BMW and Porsche, which powered the postwar economic miracle and contribute about a 10th of the nation’s gross domestic product.

National Guard patrolling the nation's capital and coming soon to a city near you?

Masked "ICE Agents" nabbing people off the streets?

Folks being disappeared while trying to "do it the right way" by going to immigration appointments?

Erasure or attempted erasure of history?

The courts aren't going to save us, because these fascist pricks will just ignore a court order and the USSC is in lockstep with the administration.

The media has, in large part, been bullied by the administration to the point that they only will speak out in the weakest of terms and other, so called trusted sources, are giving a platform with no pushback...looking at you Meet the Press and your genuflection to JD Vance this weekend.

WE THE PEOPLE must wake up and take meaningful measures to push back and oppose this fascist takeover of our country. We can't wait on the hopes of elections.

The consequence of codifying unitary executive dogma.

And when Trump is gone, however that happens, it won’t be the end of fascism; the next Republican president will have a template of lawless abuse of power to use to establish another authoritarian regime, to ignore the rule of law and Constitution with impunity.

Dead on accurate !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The way that many see it, is that our ONLY hope is an all out MILITARY COUP against this regime, but I worry about just how deep these MAGAots have infiltrated the Military at this point............

They certainly have infiltrated many groups..........FBI, ATF, SEC, FCC, FAA, Secret Service, Border Patrol, Local Sheriffs and Police the list is endless already.......

The only analogy that I can think of, to this group, is like putting a bunch of monkeys in a locked room, with baskets of hand grenades.......

many of us oldsters have been screaming from the rooftops for over 45+ years, ever since we saw the 1980 Election, corruptly and treasonously flipped to Reagan by the Infamous HWBush and his CABAL........

Then his CABAL, Cheney/Rumsfeld etc did the same thing in 2000 and 2004 corruptly installing waistoid WBush, but they ran things in the shadows, and like Reagan used him as a puppet and/or frontman.............

And, the corruption used by these New Republicans, to install Trump in 2016 was widespread and involved U.S. Corporations, NRA & Putin, as well as many others.

And here we are today with the 2025 and Federalist FASCISTS going down their wishlist, by executing a few things every day and a long list of things yet to come.........a long long list..........

The MAGAot voters are starting to get screwed along with us, big time, and they are so stupid that can't/haven't figured it out.

Same for the Republican House Members, the Republican Senators and the Republican USSC Justices.........they are all SUPER stupid to not have even begun to realize that there is no Legislative or Judicial Branches in a fascist tyranny, and the minute they are not needed they all will be thrown under the bus.................

Not to mention the flippers, the protest voters, the undecideds, the disaffected and "can't be bothereds" who couldn't ( or refused to see) the BIGGER picture... what Republicans were really saying, what they stood for, what was at stake and what we could lose,

Mon Aug 25, 2025, 07:32 PM
Aug 2025

One of the original blueprints, 54 years ago.

The Powell Memorandum is a 1971 confidential memo written by lawyer Lewis F. Powell Jr. for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, arguing that the American free enterprise system was under attack and urging businesses to actively defend it. It proposed strategies like funding scholars to promote pro-business arguments, lobbying for favorable legislation, and monitoring media to counter criticisms of capitalism. The memo is considered a pivotal document for the modern conservative movement, laying the groundwork for many of the right-wing think tanks and lobbying groups that emerged in subsequent decades.

Mon Aug 25, 2025, 07:55 PM
Aug 2025

I hear your frustration, but calling the U.S. a fascist dictatorship just isn’t accurate, and I believe only fuels despair. Elections are still competitive, courts still rule against those in power, and Congress, however messy, still debates and passes laws. That’s not what dictatorship looks like.

It’s true that past struggles for democracy, civil rights, Vietnam, labor movements, cost lives. But history also shows we’ve come out stronger because people stayed engaged, organized, and refused to give up. Violence wasn’t the ONLY path; persistence mattered even more.

Please don’t make yourself sick over this. Democracy is under strain, but it’s still alive. The fact that we can openly disagree, protest, and vote proves the door is still open; and worth defending.

It is always a fight for us and it always will be. We need someone to step up and Newsom is the one right now. IMO, he is perfect for the task: handsome, a leader of a huge state that actually sets trends in this country and I think a good guy but not so good he won't fight it out with Trump. Plus, he's gotten Trump's goat, so to speak. I LOVE what he's doing to Trump! I'm with Gov. Newsom all the way!
