Anybody with the brains god gave to a goose can see that Trump putting federally controlled soldiers on the streets of Democratic Party controlled cities is:

A) An attempt to intimidate Democratic Party politicians and voters. Why else would he not discuss sending federally controlled troops to red state cities that have higher crime rates? And,

B) Political theatre for his base. They LOVE it when he's seen to bully Democrats.

However, in order to give rhetorical cover to a few million Republican Karens, they've come up with the trope "Why wouldn't Democrats want to take measures to reduce crime in their cities?


Here's the simple answer:

1. Armed troops are not law enforcement. They're trained to fight foreign enemies, not arrest domestic criminals.

2. If Republicans are really interested in reducing crime, instead of just creating photo-ops for Trump's new reality TV show, why not take all the money that would be spent deploying soldiers to these cities, and use it to hire more police officers, prosecuters, and judges for those cities?

Just ask your MAGA aunt and uncle that question. At least it will shut them up. At best, it'll make them realize that this deploying the National Guard crap is just political theatre.
