Brave supermodel exposes the dark side of Victoria's Secret 60 Minutes Australia Sep 12, 2021

Sep 12, 2021

The business of beauty can be very ugly, especially in the cutthroat world of modelling. It's an industry that wants to portray itself as the epitome of health and happiness. The reality though is anything but. Anorexia, drug use and bullying are as routine as smiling for the cameras. Now a very determined – and brave – Australian supermodel is demanding change, and Bridget Malcolm is starting with the iconic lingerie company that made her famous. Victoria's Secret is renowned for its so-called 'Angels', but she says behind the scenes, 'devils' were at work.

People featured in this story; Bridget Malcolm, Casey Crowe Taylor.

I'm thinking after viewing this video that a prime reason for encouraging the severe starving of their models was to make them emotionally, or mentally weaker, and thus in turn easier to manipulate and exploit.

modeling industry since about the mid 1980's. Cosmetic changes are announced, happen for a bit, then back to the same old, same old. Not sure why the clothing industry for adult women insist that we stay stuck looking like vapid adolescent cheerleaders.

foreign powers, whether it be for nations or oligarchs.

His influence began during the mid 1980s and if there were a thousand+ victims or survivors, as has been reported, that begs the question as to who the clients were, whether on the Island, abroad or here in the states? They obviously had some things in common: great wealth, power and/or influence.

The extortion/spying system they created would stymy any serious expose or reform of their modeling practices which also served as their human trafficking farm.

The Soviet Union was known for using what they called "honey traps" back in the day, it seems to me this system was exported to the U.S.

Financial troubleshooter (1981-1987)

In August 1981, Epstein founded his own consulting firm, Intercontinental Assets Group Inc. (IAG),[52] which assisted clients in recovering stolen money from fraudulent brokers and lawyers.[37] Epstein described his work at this time as being a high-level bounty hunter. He told friends that he worked sometimes as a consultant for governments and the very wealthy to recover embezzled funds, while at other times he worked for clients who had embezzled funds. [37][53] Spanish actress and heiress Ana Obregón was one such wealthy client, whom Epstein helped in 1982 to recover her father's millions in lost investments, which had disappeared when Drysdale Government Securities[54][55][56][57][58] collapsed because of fraud.[59]

In the mid-1980s, Epstein traveled multiple times between the United States, Europe, and the Middle East. [60][61] While in London, Epstein met Steven Hoffenberg. They had been introduced through Douglas Leese, a defense contractor, and John Mitchell, the former U.S. Attorney General.[37] An anonymous source met with Epstein and Leese as early as 1981.[62] Epstein also stated to some people at the time that he was an intelligence agent.[63] Epstein associate Hoffenberg in 2020 alleged that Epstein was recruited in the 1980s by Leese to work for British intelligence,[31] and that Hoffenberg introduced Epstein to Robert Maxwell.[62]

During the 1980s, Epstein possessed an Austrian passport that had his photo, but with a false name. The passport showed his place of residence as Saudi Arabia.[60][61] In 2017, "a former senior White House official" reported that Alexander Acosta, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida who had handled Epstein's criminal case at the end of the George W. Bush's presidency, had stated to interviewers of President Donald Trump's first transition team: "I was told Epstein 'belonged to intelligence' and to 'leave it alone'", and that Epstein was "above his pay grade". [64][65]

During this period, one of Epstein's clients was the Saudi Arabian businessman Adnan Khashoggi,[66] who was the middleman in transferring American weapons from Israel to Iran as part of the Iran–Contra affair in the 1980s.[8] Khashoggi had been introduced to him by Leese.[62] Khashoggi was one of several defense contractors that he knew.[37][63]

Epstein & Co (1988-2019)

(snip)

The only publicly known billionaire client of Epstein was Leslie Wexner, chairman and CEO of L Brands (formerly The Limited, Inc.) and Victoria's Secret.[37][72] In 1986, Epstein met Wexner through their mutual acquaintances, insurance executive Robert Meister and his wife, in Palm Beach. A year later, Epstein became Wexner's financial adviser and served as his right-hand man. Within the year, Epstein had sorted out Wexner's entangled finances.[38][73] In July 1991, Wexner granted Epstein full power of attorney over his affairs. The power of attorney allowed Epstein to hire people, sign checks, buy and sell properties, borrow money, and do anything else of a legally binding nature on Wexner's behalf.[74] Epstein managed Wexner's wealth and various projects such as the building of his yacht, the Limitless.[37] It was during this time that Southern Air Transport relocated its headquarters to service Wexner's brands,[75] and that Epstein dated models like Stacey Williams.[76] Epstein represented himself as a global talent scout for Victoria's Secret during this time and used this powerful position to manipulate young women into his bed.[77][78]

"Victoria's Secret" by Jax
Lyrics:

God, I wish somebody would've told me when I was younger
That all bodies aren't the same
Photoshop, itty-bitty models on magazine covers
Told me I was overweight
I stopped eating, what a bummer
Can't have carbs and a hot girl summer
If I could go back and tell myself when I was younger
I'd say, "Psst"
I know Victoria's Secret
And girl, you wouldn't believe
She's an old man who lives in Ohio
Making money off of girls like me
Cashing in on body issues
Selling skin and bones with big boobs
I know Victoria's Secret
She was made up by a dude (dude)
Victoria was made up by a dude (dude)
Victoria was made up by a dude
I wish somebody would've told me that thighs of thunder
Meant normal human thighs
The fucking pressure I was under
To lose my appetite
And fight the cellulite
With hunger games like every night
If I could go back and tell myself when I was younger
I'd say, "Hey, dummy"
I know Victoria's Secret
And girl, you wouldn't believe
She's an old man who lives in Ohio
Making money off of girls like me
Cashing in on body issues
Selling skin and bones with big boobs
I know Victoria's Secret
She was made up by a dude (dude)
Victoria was made up by a dude (dude)
Victoria was made up by a dude
I know Victoria's Secret
And girl, you wouldn't believe
She's an old man who lives in Ohio
Making money off of girls like me
Cashing in on body issues
Selling skin and bones with big boobs
I know Victoria's Secret
She was made up by a dude
I know Victoria's Secret
And girl, you wouldn't believe
She's an old man who lives in Ohio
Making money off of girls like me
Cashing in on body issues

She was never made for me and you
