10. Weird...we got Covid and Flu a couple weeks ago at CVS (Florida)

As educators, we got in the habit when school starts. As seniors we were told to get Covid every 6 months. I have no idea if it was a new version.

Except for spring of 2020, when I had a bad case of Covid - neither of us has ever had more than a mild version. It is going around here over the last month or so.

This was before the latest announcement of banning any vaccines.

Wife and I are in our 80's and are very diligent about health matters. I took our COVID vaccination records to our local pharmacy and asked the pharmacist if we are up-to-date on the vaccinations. She told us, NO, we need the "new vaccine," however, they have it on order and do not know when they will receive it.

I called our primary care physician, who works at a local medical center that is a Level 1 med center. Same answer -- yes, you need the new vaccine, yes, we have it on order, no, we don't know when we will receive it.

30. I went to get a booster yesterday.

I’m back in Dallas for a few days before moving on to points south this weekend. A few guides and websites said I needed a recent Covid booster vaccination to enter, but two natives who work in our office say the info was outdated.. The “old” vaccine was running out, and not every CVS had it, but one did, and that was enough. I was in and out in 25 minutes, no charge.

The new version was not yet available. If Trump and Bobby Jr. have their way, it never will be, either, but since I live in Germany, and they can’t very well prevent the EU from letting its residents get it, I should be OK. My wife and I will be back in Düsseldorf by mid September, and it doesn’t look like the new vaccine will be out much before then. I am supposed to wait two months before getting another one anyway. Now, if we can load up on Tandrilax while we are down in Sambaland, all will be right with the world, if only temporarily, não?
