Whack a mole?

Everybody seems to be afraid to stick their heads out of the hole, for fear that they will get hammered down.

It has been said that there is strength in numbers. Where were the rest of the nation's Governors when Governor Pritzker gave his speech yesterday? They should have been united in their message. What happened to the 10th Amendment, which basically states "that any powers not given to the federal government by the Constitution, nor forbidden to the states, are reserved to the states or the people. In essence, it creates a balance of power, ensuring the federal government doesn't exceed its authority and that states and citizens retain significant rights". Shouldn't they all, Democrats and Republicans, be standing up for their states?

But, as with John Bolton a couple of days ago, anyone that dares to stand up and speak out against the dictator wannabe is knocked down or threatened with prison.

There is a pall over the nation's Capitol as the dictator continues to take control of every institution of our government, the latest being the Federal Reserve, with his attempted firing of Lisa Cook, a Federal Reserve member. She has refused to leave, at last report.

Also, he is threatening to send in the National Guard into Chicago. Governor Pritzker has told him that he is not needed nor wanted in their fair city. The Democratic Governors need to stand together. In fact, the American people need to stand together.

But unfortunately, there are more chickens than hawks in our elected bodies. They are hiding in their holes.

I also think that the examples you give are indicators that people ARE fighting back.

Pritzker's a good example. DC is a very weird border case, because as a city it has very little power - it is effectively a protectorate of Congress.

Chicago, on the other hand, is in Illinois. It's a large city in a blue state with Democratic officials at the state and city level. Pritzker can call up the Illinois National Guard in defense (and has a greater right to do so) and any intervention there would be tantamount to the declaration of war on the Federal Government against a state.

What is hampering larger collective action are two things:

1. The belief (valid I believe) that any actions taken on the part of the states should be handled through the judiciary first.
2. The realization that should one state take military action against the Federal government then it would force a civil war as other states would in effect be forced to take a side in the conflict.

Trump, of course, wants to force this confrontation. He wants to be the leader that flushed out the traitorous rebellion, he wants to play commander-in-chief against his own country. My guess is that this is being pushed by Stephen Miller, though the whole bunch of Nazis at this point are now solidly behind him.
