Young lady has dual citizenship with Spain/US... her Spanish passprot is expired and it's a PITA to renew. So she decides to use her American Passport...
The Spanish official doesn't even look at her American Passport, takes the Spanish one and she explains she knows it's expired just hasn't fixed it, blahblah...
He gives her a "look" and says basically well we're not just gonna leave you out there... come on in...

American passport not even looked at, our fascism and problems are preceding us to other countries... They KNOW we just wanna get out from under this nightmare...

and that's why she feels like a damn refugee...
