This Chump Tax cannot be sustained.
I called my local natural grocer about 10-14 days ago to check on the price of an item I've never bought, Nellies Oxygen Brightener. $25. Surprised because they usually have a mark-up as they are an independent store and it was less than the company's website.
So I'm in the store today and see the same item is $32. And I notice the Canadian flag on it. Oh shit, Chumpster just fucking cost me $7 in 10 days!
Talking to the cashier they can't even get Brazil nuts because the distributers can't price the items. She said that was affecting LOTS of items. And as I cussed Chump and she agreed we talked about how many countries have tariff issues that will really hurt their store.
This is the first time I've seen empty shelves and outrageous price increases.
Major supermarkets have been eating the Trump Tax, but I suspect THAT SHIT IS OVER REAL SOON.
