(15,886 posts)The rightwing noise machine has been building a very effective propaganda network from Rush Limbaugh to Fox News to the increasing ownership of print & broadcast news networks to podcasts and social media.
A worldview built on false narratives and big lies is entrenched in large segments of voting demographics, but that still doesn't excuse any mature adult for not seeing Donald Trump for the un-American vile creature that he is.
As for the Democratic Party being held in low esteem, that includes millions of people who did not vote for Trump and abhor Republicans in Congress for being his lapdogs.
They think Democrats are weak and ineffective, not fighting hard enough against the dismantling of our government and the fascist takeover.
In the last election, far too many stayed home. THEY effectively stripped the Democratic Party of governmental power to prevent what's been happening the last 7+ months.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
