2. I've read that some of the NG are pissed about the deployment

The Gov is calling them up for 29 days instead of 30 so they don't get benefits for housing and other items that kick in at 30 days or more.

Employers can’t fire them due to guard duty. Of course, really expected THIS to be reasonably expected when the sign up or hired a Guardsman.

4. The Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA)

does not require employers to keep specific jobs open for National Guard deployments, but they must rehire returning service members to their previous positions, or a similar one.
