A few misnomers the media uses all the time

I am constantly frustrated at the media ( and frankly some of our democratic leaders) inability to call things for what they are.

For example, instead of outright saying Trump lied , they will say misspoke, misstated, was inaccurate, etc..

Likewise we finally are now seeing a discussion about the fact we are rapidly moving towards a dictatorship, yet they are calling it an autocracy, which for the average person does not have the same impact.

Finally, I wish people would stop giving this administration the benefit of the doubt by calling whatever horrible thing they are doing a distraction. It's not.

Trump's use of troops and federal agents in cities like DC is not a distraction, it has a more sinister goal which is to move towards full dictatorship.

Dismissing every thing Trump does as a distraction is a way of softening what is really happening and excusing the actions.

End of rant.

He is a criminal president.
His executive orders are unlawful decrees.
Closing down agencies set up by congress is unlawful
Selling his crappy stuff and bit coins etc. is financial corruption
Sending troops into Dem cities is abuse of power, political corruption
Investigating his critics is abuse of power, political corruption
His tariffs are unlawful taxation, taxation without representation
Everything they do is either corrupt, unlawful, or abuses of power.

3. Their dismissal of science and experts doesn't reflect any "controversy"

Anti vax, e.g., is not a "controversial" view. It's a fringe view recognized by experts as wildly inconsistent with all scientific evidence, research, a d clinical experience. It's an insane attack on one of the most successful medical interventions ever. Vaccines have saved millions upon millions of lives and improved the lives of even more.

Their dismissing experts as "elitists" is itself an arrogantly elitist view, substituting their own lie-based agenda for decades of carefully peer-validated data gathering, research, experimentation, publication, and review by an entire community of dedicated professionals.

The press is afraid the Eye of Sauron will focus on them, so they soft pedal terms to avoid his ire.
