What is wrong with our society?

As a child I never had even a thought that there might be shooting and killing of students. What is different in the present society than just after WWII? One thought comes to mind .the stress many people feel because of the cost of living. The cost of rentals has skyrocketed which may be fine for those who own rentals but not for the lower class worker. And then to have to finance higher education and the major increase to have a home,
I am fed up with the wealthy whining they need a tax break. I don't see any of them at the food bank or out on the street. It is the middle class who holds our society together not the wealthy in regards to taxes. If you are wealthy you are damn lucky and you OWE your country something like support which has allowed you to become so comfortable. Just like Trump's niece stated as far as the wealthy there is never enough for the wealthy, they want more and more. No matter how wealthy they are they want more and more. Why are so many people sick enough to kill children in a school? Something smells in our culture/society and we are paying a terrible price.

Far too many children are not being parented. Machines are doing that job. How many children are left to stare at a machine for hours and hours every day? Very little human reaction. Thinking everything they experience on that machine substitutes for human interaction. These same children see a “TikTok” challenge and the next thing you know, someone gets hurt or worse.

I know it’s hypocritical to say this while on a “machine”. We have to take care of children. All of them. If you are fortunate enough to face your own children, talk to them. Sometimes it’s difficult. If you don’t have children, help those who do.

And parents work ridiculous hours at sometimes 2-3 jobs just to barely stay afloat, and childcare is unaffordable to most…… it happens.

I know people struggle. That’s been the case for years, sadly. But this phenomenon of handing your child a machine is relatively recent. How many times do you walk into your local grocery store, see a child in the cart with a phone or tablet to keep them company?

The concept is not new at all. The minor variants, as with all things, are.

unless you were wealthy or nobility, both parents worked, and kids were expected to take on adult responsibilities from an early age.
A "stay at home mom" has always been an upper class luxury. It became more hidden, at least in the west, after WWII, but it never went away.

It was and is a concerted and highly unified campaign to convince the American people that guns represent strength and freedom. Therefore restricting guns was a sign of weakness and anti-patriotic. Gun-industry money made sure the propaganda worked.

Why does very progressive Minneapolis and very Progressive Minnesota allow just anyone to purchase multiple guns and so much ammunition? Is the hunting lobby that strong in a deep blue state?

Face it. The Democratic Party is unwilling to address the gun issue, either. Individual states, especially one so Progressive as Minnesota should address the ease people have to purchase multiple guns. And ammunition.

That’s currently where I reside. There have always been those devoid of empathy walking among us, however, our society has seen fit to elevate those individuals to positions of power and influence, and now susceptible people start believing that these characteristics will enhance their own lives. Indifference over mass murder is just one facet of this many-sided puzzle.

Our regular preparedness drills consisted of crawling under our desks or lining up and being led to the school's innermost hallways, where we sat and covered our heads with our arms. We were told over and over again that if we heard an explosion, we must NOT LOOK, or we could go blind.

For many years, there was the 10...1000....10,000 wages/living.

Take late 70's Minimum..about $3.00 10 times hourly wage is 30 bucks...apartment for one week. 120 monthly.
1000 times minimum wage 3000 dollar for a new car. cool.
10,000 times wage is 30,000 buy a decent house.

NOW...Yes NOW...Wage say...15 bucks 150 dollars a week ..600 a month for a decent apartment....Yeah right...Dream on
A car...15 times 1000 ....new car for 15,000 Ah....bout 2-3 times if you want that car.
Here's the pissy one >>> 15 times 10,000 ...150,000 for a new house Are you F*** kidding me?

Bottom line..The working class is getting (Insert nasty thoughts here)
