It’s legal in North America, much of South America, Western Europe, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, and Israel. Tolerated in a few other places, and unrecognized and grounds for unpleasant outcomes in the rest of the world.

There are a number of same-sex married couples in my neighborhood. My daughter babysits for a two-mom family.
