Think about the logistics around national debt, social security and nuclear weapons, just for starters.

Not.going.to.happen.

Many red states have very significant amount of Dems. Succession is not going to happen.

You do realize there are Republicans in "blue states," right?

And, it may surprise you to know that there are Democrats in "red states." I'm one of them. I've lived in Florida for 33 years. My county started out solidly Democratic, then "Jeb!" gerrymandered it + population changes and it is now ruby red.

I didn't secede. In 2017, I worked with an amazing group of women and became the first elected president of the Democratic Women's Club in my county. I'm still involved.

We are outnumbered 2-1 but we had more than 500 protesting in the heat at the No Kings Rally. We have a 2000+ strong nonpartisan group that arranges the rallies and sign wavings because they all hate Pres. Pedophile.

Don't even think about counting us out.

I read it.

My grandparents fled Poland in 1939, running from what he says is already here.

I am second generation American.

If I believed that we were already living in a fascist state and it was just a matter of time before they started looking for "others" and executing them. Ya know, like they were actually beginning to do Germany, I would be running.

Fast and hard in any direction.

If you believe it is over and violence is the only answer ... run.

Today.

Drop what you have in your hand, sell everything you have and get on a plane ASAP.

To anywhere.

Run.

Just like my grandparents did, in 1939.

The OSCE and OAS have sent election monitors in 2020 and 2024.

And no state will ever seriously discuss secession. That question has been answered already. The only way out is fighting your way out and no blue state has the power to do so. Even a group can't. This isnt the 1860s. Your average citizen and soldier aren't loyal to their state beyond sports rivalries or joking rivalries. Nor would secession even be uniformly accepted within the state. California may be bright blue electorally, but it as millions of MAGAs in it that wouldn't be to keen on leaving the US. Do you think they will just accept it or move? Or fight the state and separate from the state itself?

Not that I think it will happen, but if it did, it would stir up things monumentally.

I don't care for my Washington State taxes to be given to a lot of spendthrift gropers in DC who will just waste them on their own fetishes.

which have connected them with another..."

No country, no empire, lasts forever, and we're going on 240 years. I'm coming around to the notion that we need to re-write the Constitution to reflect reality, but I don't trust the representatives from the red states to do a competent job. I also fear the breakup will be bloodier than that of Yugoslavia - and we're rapidly becoming even more balkanized. I don't like the thought of breaking up the country, but I also don't like the prospect of living in a world Miller, Vance, Thiel, and their ilk want.
