I had a sneaky feeling that the purpose of the Putin summit was to hand over several billion dollars in a diplomatic pouch to obtain videos held by Putin of some incredibly damning evidence on his protege.

Given the apparent level of dissatisfaction with the result, it seems that Putin raised the ante and will settle for

no less than the complete dismantling of the United States.

Past and current actions and utterings are completely consistent with this, including the lover's quarrel, a sure sign that the "master deal maker" failed to get the prize.
