Another source of late breaking news.

But I don't think it fits the forum rules for late breaking news.
Such is life.

I found a plain-text news aggregator at
https://getinstantnewsnow.com/

They just post ads on the right that my ad blocker doesn't yet know about (waits for updates) but they are so far easy to ignore.

The "About" page

At Get Instant News Now, we’re dedicated to bringing you the most important news from trusted sources — quickly, clearly, and reliably. Our platform aggregates breaking stories and timely updates from top outlets so you can stay informed without the hassle of searching multiple sites.

Whether you’re interested in world events, politics, business, technology, or entertainment, we provide a straightforward, easy-to-navigate hub for the latest headlines — all in one place.

Our mission is simple: deliver accurate news fast, so you can stay connected and make informed decisions every day.

Thank you for choosing Get Instant News Now as your news source.

And that's for what it's worth.
Another news aggregator for your consideration when posting.

Sample:
Abrego Garcia's ask judge to ban "baseless public attacks" by Trump admin.
New source August 29, 2025 By mattysue4@gmail.com

In the above, the title has the article link, and New Source has the source's main page or rss link.
In this case, an unreadable XML file, so it goes. Perhaps it's for a feed reader.
I got no indication about who the "By" refers to, apparently the person submitting the link, but I don't think that "NPR Staff" actually sends links to the site.(It's in one of the posts)
Well, it does seem to work if these quirks don't bother you.

Happy aggregating.

"Get paid for your unused internet."

DON'T do this, DUers. They pay you to have a device attached to your internet, or install software on your computer, to function as a VPN, or a re-mailer/spammer. They have the potential to sniff your normal traffic, and in any case, it's pretty shady.

Perhaps ublock-origin or Ad Blocker Pro or Purify will catch up.

Good advice.

The feeds that GetInstantNewsNow links to are regular RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds for news sources like NY Times and NPR. Different outlets can have feeds for particular topics, like politics, science, or sports. With some readers, you can aggregate topics from different sources into the same stream.

Here's more info on RSS and RSS readers. (I like LifeHacker as a info source for tech stuff.) https://lifehacker.com/tech/best-rss-readers

Unfortunately, seems like none of this get me around paywalls.

For a news aggregator, I've been intending to try out Ground News (https://ground.news/). Mostly subscription-based, but tries to draw from sources across the political spectrum. They used to advertise with Trae Crowder and he claimed he liked them himself.

https://www.citationneeded.news/curate-with-rss/

...What if you could take all your favorite newsletters, ditch the data collection, and curate your own newspaper? It could include independent journalists, bloggers, mainstream media, worker-owned media collectives, and just about anyone else who publishes online. Even podcast episodes, videos from your favorite YouTube channels, and online forum posts could slot in, too. Only the stuff you want to see, all in one place, ready to read at your convenience. No email notifications interrupting your peace (unless you want them), no pressure to read articles immediately. Wouldn’t that be nice?

Platforms like Substack recognize this appeal, and invite you to follow numerous writers in a tidy feed on their app. But with Substack, you’re limited to following only the writers who publish on that platform. You’re also at the mercy of their rapidly accelerating enshittification, as they work to lock readers and writers into the product, while making the experience worse for both.

There’s a more enshittification-proof option.

Choose an RSS reader

Many good free and paid RSS readers exist, as web-based, desktop, or mobile apps. I personally use and like Inoreader.g I pay for a subscription, but it has a generous free tier. I’ve also heard good things about NewsBlur and, for Apple users, NetNewsWire. I no longer recommend Feedly. There are also RSS browser add-ons, like Feeder and SlickRSS...
