(11,032 posts)Democrat Graham Platner, the oyster farmer trying to oust Maines long-time Republican U.S. Sen. Susan Collins in 2026, announced Thursday that his campaign has raised $1 million in his first nine days in the race.
According to his campaign, Platners average donation was $33 dollars, with 98% of donations under $100. His campaign has also recruited more than 2,700 volunteers who will help with phone banking, text banking, and door knocking operations.

Platner has teamed up with U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders, an independent from Vermont who describes himself as a democratic socialist, and Democratic gubernatorial candidate Troy Jackson for an upcoming Labor Day rally in Portland.
