he wasn't - he voted over 90% of the time with Republicans. She's only a traditional Republican if you consider the Republican party to have started with Reagan.

“Democrat Graham Platner, the oyster farmer trying to oust Maine’s long-time Republican U.S. Sen. Susan Collins in 2026, announced Thursday that his campaign has raised $1 million in his first nine days in the race.

According to his campaign, Platner’s average donation was $33 dollars, with 98% of donations under $100. His campaign has also recruited more than 2,700 volunteers who will help with phone banking, text banking, and door knocking operations.”
