how he set up some displays, to the princess, the lioness, the tigress and then to the egress.
People paid their .25 and when they found themselves on the street were so flabbergasted, they paid another quarter to do it again.
Don't know if this is just folklore, but read that story many years ago describing Barnum's mastery of human suckery.
