WJRB news has learned of a Towns County arrest ten days ago charging a local man with incest, aggravated child molestation, aggravated sodomy and other sex crimes.

The sheriff’s office confirms Shane Alan Spence, 45, is believed to have committed the crimes against a female family member over a period of 4-5 years. She was younger than 16 when the first incident would have taken place. Spence lives in the Gumlog Road area of the county.

This is the first such county arrest for incest during Sheriff Ken Henderson’s time in office, although there have been others since 2000.

1. Actually Towns County in Georgia

Probably this guy was from Mississippi, but this locale is about 10 miles south of me (in NC). Ken Henderson is the newish Sheriff there. I've got a souple of good friends along Gum Log Road where this slime lived. My social work friends have always said this arrest represents maybe 10 percent of such crimes that go on in our area. (Southern Appalachia)
