This OP/ED by Tom Tyner should be taken in the same spirit as Moses coming down with those effing TABLETS.

"When you have a president bent on maximizing his autocratic power and positioning his party to dominate federal elections and create virtual one-party rule, no response is too extreme."

I've been SHOCKED to see responses...and not just from the Trump camp...about Newsom's counter-gerrymandering intentions.

This isn't a slap and tickle pillow fight. You can call it what you want..."Trump wants to turn the USA into Russia" or "Trump wants to turn the USA into North Korea"...but the endgame is the same.

You don't bring a Nerf Ball to a gun fight. You get out the fucking NUKES. I am 100% behind EVERYTHING Newsome has said and done so far and I look forward to MANY OTHERS in the opposition following suit. Here's the OP/ED:

Only one thing can stop Trump turning the US into Russia

Governor Gavin Newsom is doing exactly what he had to do with his redistricting plan in California: attempting to stop Donald Trump rigging the 2026 midterms election in Republicans’ favor.

When you have a president bent on maximizing his autocratic power and positioning his party to dominate federal elections and create virtual one-party rule, no response is too extreme.

Newsom didn’t choose to create five Democratic-leaning House districts out of territory currently held by Republican lawmakers. He threatened it as a tactic to get Trump and his obeisant Texas governor and lawmakers to back off their gerrymandering scheme to rig the election.

Since Texas went through with the redistricting, Newsom had the choice of allowing Trump’s attempt to steal the House to go unchallenged or to counterattack and re-level the playing field.

With you and the author of the Op Ed.

This is a tangible "doing something".

It's justified retaliation.

There shouldn’t be a Democratic state that has a republican elected. Carve them up to the point where all of them are eliminated. We have to fight back against this crap.

We could get 5 in Virginia, 3 in colorado 1 in maryland.

If Republicans wanna play dirty, then Democrats gotta hit them back
