Big Business and corporations will choose authoritarianism over democracy everytime.

Because it means they get to keep all their profits and nothing is more important to them than wealth. They do not care for the common good. They care for their shareholders and owners.

We watched as the big tech and business leaders stood around Trump after they passed the "Big Ugly Bill" and bragged about how many hundreds of millions of dollars they made on that day. That was all that mattered to them.

They will shovel in all the money they can physically stash and buy multi-million dollar yachts and throw big wedding parties costing $20 million dollars and build numerous mansions, as if they can live in more than one at a time, and disregard all those that wish for a democracy.

Big wealth in the hands of a few equals fascism. We are there. The only question is what will the final form of fascism look like? How much suffering will they permit before they even notice? The stock market is nothing but a temporary parking space for their ill-gotten gains so it cannot be the barometer we measure anything with during these times.

There will be state owned businesses and businesses favored by the regime. No more free enterprise or building the next great American company.

I never want to hear those smug CNBC / WSJ types talk about the "free market" and socialism ever again.

Bezos, Zuckerberg, etc kissed the ring because, in the short term, they thought it would be good for business.

How is Amazon doing profit wise in Russia? Hungary? North Korea? How about Facebook?

As we see when the military invades a city, even just to pick up trash, authoritarianism is bad for business.

McDonald’s, Home Depot, Proctor and Gamble, grocery chains, farms that supply grocery chains- none of them want authoritarianism.

They don’t want authoritarianism, they just want unrestrained capitalism- two very different things,

Don’t think of Nazi Germany in the 1930’s, think of the US from 1890-1930, the Gilded Age of tariffs, robber barons, sweatshops, etc.
