General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsIf Donald Trump was a 10-year old kid, what would you say to him?
What would you tell him to do?
Since he is now a 79-year old kid, who acts like a 10-year old, shouldn't the same thing be said to him now?
I don't know why someone doesn't tell him that he needs to go to his room and no TV or I-phone for a week?
If that doesn't work, take away his ice cream and Big Macs.
People should treat him like a ten-year old. He has to have boundaries set for him.

(38,824 posts)Just as it didn't work that way during his first term when far too many on DU imagined there would be someone who would prevent him from doing something like starting a nuclear war, or would take his cell phone away from him, etc.
The office of the presidency doesn't come with a parent. Generally, most presidents wouldn't have needed one anyway.

(61,094 posts)I think, in fact, this WAS the 10 year old Donald his parents dealt with by sending him to military school. Although he actually used his military school as an asset in 2016, it was essentially a reform school for rich uncontrollable boys whose families could not deal with them.
I wonder if there was a psychological program that could have tried them to get to the root of his anger. It seems he may have felt unloved and his parents were dysfunctional. He was clearly a troubled kid who unfortunately is now creating havoc for the whole world.

Unfortunately, he'd then become someone else's problem.
That's our quandary, can't live with him / can't get rid of him.

After watching this clip, don't you just dream of slapping the shit out of Donnie Dipshit like Captain Kirk?

(23,453 posts)It would've been better if he had never been born. But if possible to alter his development, it might have worked if someone had tried before he became a physical clump of cells.
I read some information during his first term that he when he was under 10, he hurt a younger kid, and at least one animal. Also bullied at least one kid at the military school. So he was always cruel, bent, whatever you want to say. No one stopped him, no one influenced him to be different.

Do you know why people don't really like kings?
Kings don't really have friends. Either people are afraid they will get hurt by the king, or they are hoping to get some of his riches. Kings don't play fair - they don't do any work, they make everyone else work and then keep all the stuff. They have way more stuff than they need, but don't share with people, and don't care if other people are hungry or cold.
Nobody really likes the king. They are happy when he goes away.
Don't act like a king. Nobody really likes a king.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
