Is this a normal White House operation? I have never thrown anything from my upstairs window. Does anyone else here do this sort of thing?

That stuff looks like it came from a second floor window. Would workmen be throwing stuff from the second floor of the White House?

Description

(3,618 posts)... the limited view of the building in the video, I'm betting that the second window from the end would have to be the Queen's Bedroom.

(1,727 posts)Its the sitting room off of the Lincoln Bedroom. The B room window.

(7 posts)Just to clarify
This is an east side view of the White House; the left side around the corner as one looks at the front of the structure from Pennsylvania Avenue. Note the Eisenhower Executive Office Building (sometimes called the ugliest building in America), in the background. The Eisenhower Building is on the west side of the White House, so this is the east side.
Looking at the floor plan, second window from the left would make this the B room off of the Lincoln Bedroom. Below this window there is no ground, but rather the roof of the East Colonnade, leading to the East Wing.
As noted by angrychair, this video is likely being recorded from an upper floor of the Treasury Building, which is across a narrow closed off side street from the East Wing. The background noise would indicate it is in a dining area or possibly during a reception of some sort.

To throw something out the window, means taking the window out of the window pane itself.
BUT, security protocol says that contractors cant have access to the residence while the President is staying at the White House.
So if work is being done by a contractor on the private residence that means Trump wasnt at the White House last night/this morning

Also, it does not appear to be a zoom shot from south of the ellipse.

ON EDIT: I see I was mistaken when I first posted. I now see that the view is to the east side of the White House. As mentioned by another poster, the window seems to be that of the second floor sitting room. A post below accurately mentions that the Treasury Building is located east of the White House, and it may be the location from which the video was recorded.

(11,901 posts)That has a view of that side of the WH is Treasury. I hear people and background noise, music and talking for sure, just I've only been in that building a couple times so I can't imagine where this video is being filmed from in that building but it seems real but you never know nowadays.

(2,409 posts)The Treasury has been mentioned several times as the location where this may have been shot. I doubt it. The only potential area within the building with that kind of noise would be the cafeteria. When I worked at Treasury a million years ago, the cafeteria was on the first floor, and it didnt sound like a nightclub. I dont know if it even exists any more.
However, there is a restaurant near Treasury that shows a view of the White House that seems to match the video here. The place is called the Vue Rooftop and is at the top of the Hotel Washington, which is higher than Treasury. Id post a picture but I dont know how to do that.
Why does everything this White House does have to be weird.

Totally bizarre! I don't believe a White House employee would have done that.

(9,280 posts)A video posted online on Monday of a black bag being heaved out of the White House showed maintenance work being done by a contractor, according to a White House official.
The video was originally posted on an Instagram account called Washingtonianprobs and spread widely on social media, prompting jokes about White House security protocol and speculation about what was being thrown out. It shows a person wearing white pants stepping a foot out onto a windowsill on the second floor of the White House and tossing down what appears to be a black plastic bag. Later someone tosses something long and white out the window. The second floor of the White House is where the Presidents private residence is located.
It was a contractor who was doing regular maintenance while the President was gone, the White House official said in a statement in response to questions about the images.
I'm sure all those people who insisted it was AI will be back to admit they were wrong
