Dozens of people are suggesting what the big story today will be.

That's happening here on DU and in other places. But who is saying what? I've been looking through the posts here and elsewhere, and the answer has been the same. Those saying what is absolutely going to happen are people who have no freaking idea what is going to happen. So, they speculate with whatever guess they can come up with.

Well, an announcement, whatever it is, appears to be scheduled for 2 P.M. Eastern time. That's not all that long from now, really. So, I've decided that what I'm going to do is wait and see. It might be earth-shaking. It might be mundane and boring. Trump has done both things from time to time. What will it be today? I have no freaking idea. Neither do all the people who are confidently predicting whatever they're predicting.

We'll find out, folks. We'll find out. Patience will be rewarded with information. No need to get worked up into a frenzy over all the silliness.

definitely done as a distraction. All the speculation managed to keep the focus off Epstein for a day.

Of course we don't know, but it's amusing to speculate about what kind of bomb (or steaming turd) he might drop, whether it's to deflect attention from the upcoming press conference with the Epstein victims, or to prove he's not dead, or because he wants attention or he has gas or whatever. Whatever it is, it will almost certainly be both stupid and unconstitutional and there will be a lot of chatter about it and he'll still be more or less alive, so to that extent it won't be much of a surprise. But it's mildly entertaining to imagine what fresh hell he might visit upon us, as well as to watch for new signs that the Grim Reaper might be getting ready to do some reaping.
