Fantasizing about him dying a lingering, painful death is an exercise in wishful thinking, imo. I know some would see that as fitting retribution for all the harm he has caused, but I fail to see what it would accomplish.

Even if he did suffer, he wouldn't learn anything from it or see it as punishment; he would just blame it on someone else as he has done for his entire lifetime. It wouldn't undo any of the havoc he's wreaked or fix any of the damage. It seems pointless to me.

I actually like the idea of him dying suddenly, because it would be such a wonderful surprise. Waking up one morning to unexpected good news sounds great to me. Also, the more suddenly it happens, the greater the shock will be for his devoted followers.

A cousin of mine had Lewy body dementia. Near the end any touch to her was beyond any suffering anyone wants to imagine. I hoped and prayed every day it was her last. I don't know how nursing home caregivers do it. Heroes all.
