Had to travel quite a ways out-of-state, since my state is one of the 16 where the shot is not available (for now/ever?), and had to pay out-of-pocket, since it wasn't covered by Medicare Part B or Part D (for now/ever?), but got it done. I'm hoping to get reimbursed by Medicare if/when Medicare covers the cost, but not counting on it.

(1,026 posts)a bit over $200, versus the gas and time to travel fairly far, and the unknown of it ever being covered.

(395 posts)Glad to hear you were able to get your Covid shot even though you had to travel out-of-state. I may be doing that too. I live in New Mexico and the CVS here is hopeful but is waiting for confirmation. Depending on who you talk to, some really think the vaccine will be available soon and others don't want to count on it.
I have to determine where I can go in case we don't have availability here. Not a good feeling.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
