History lesson

Now that schools are open I am wondering if they teach that there really was a time before the internet and fox news that liberals and conservatives could debate about the direction of the country and still respect each other. Even maintain friendships.

Of course the internet is an invaluable tool, but so is a hammer. One can use a hammer to build a house or destroy a house. Just feelings nostalgic for the days when I could have heated debates with conservative friends and it would never enter each other’s universe that because we disagreed that one or the other didn’t love this country. That thought just didn’t exist. We certainly didn’t sugarcoat the very real issues and our differences on how to move forward, but we did want to move forward.
