I hope other Dems were taking notes during Pritzker's speech

I loved the whole thing. In fact, it's a road map for how to approach trump if Dem leadership is interested.

One of my favorite parts: "I refuse to pretend any of this is normal....I refuse to fall into the pundit trap that demands we sacrifice vital constitutional rights if it's being done in the fake guise of fighting crime."

Also loved when he (rightfully) blamed crime in blue cities on guns coming in from red states.

Dems have many zingers like this that they could be using every time the topic comes up, which is constantly so that the media can recite RW talking points.

It will depend on Jeffries follows up when Trump blows him off or attempts to set him up.

There are other voices that can be heard, too. But these two men are what we need at the forefront right now. They project strength and control, and they are showing a stark contrast to the mayhem that IS Donald Trump.

seriously needs to stfu. We've had months of near silence and the feeling of being leaderless while trump literally destroys our country.

Don't speak up now that we have two guys standing up for us. Just slither back under whatever rock you crawled out from. I don't want to hear it!

"Do your job"
"Our violence problem is a red state gun problem" (not verbatim)

And he referred to him as "trump" and not "president trump."

Dems should be condescending to republicans the way republicans have been condescending to Dems for years. I saw that in the Mayor's address.

This is Leadership.
If we could get a united front from the Party this could achieve critical mass and finally result in some victories in this existential battle.
I'm a California Liberal and I'm proud to have voted Democratic every Election since 1968. We were fortunate to have great candidates and great Governors, in Jerry Brown and Gavin Newsom.
