The Gestapo, the state secret police, were a subdivision of the Schutzstaffel (SS).
They wore the standard grey-green SS uniform, similar to the Allgemeine SS (General SS).
These uniforms were issued to differentiate them from ordinary civilians and indicate their official status within the Nazi regime.
