AOC: Millionaires are very overrepresented in congress... If we want a congress that reflects the actual country

Good for these congress folks. Yet, they need to get money out of the election process--it takes to much fundraising to get elected. And of course millionaires have their own money.

If I'm not mistaken on details, there is a relatively fresh RepubliCon representative who has made $18 million in a short time from stock trading.

I suspect that's why people who are already very wealthy run for congress....they put in a whole lot of their own money because they know they'll have so much more once they are in and can start doing "legal" insider trading.

This is most prominent in Republican congresspersons, but not limited to them.

ETA: I know most aren't on TikTok, but this creator ranks the financial integrity of members of congress, based on public disclosures. They all have the same metric. It should come up to his channel. It is interesting to listen to. WARNING: He uses a word of mild profanity in his introduction.
