Jobless Americans outnumber job openings for the first time since early 2021.

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/there-are-more-americans-out-of-work-than-there-are-jobs-open-for-the-first-time-since-april-2021-170652412.html

Not since Biden was helping us recover from the first Trump economic collapse have we seen this situation.

If you know my posting history, I try to keep emotion out of economic discussions and predictions. I look for data. We are heading into a deep recession that is going to be hardest on the working poor.

Anecdotally, it's getting ugly. Seeing more people desperate for jobs and some of these people have degrees and skills that should make finding jobs easy. Seeing a ton of small businesses like bars and restaurants closing their doors in my part of the state.

You're looking at an economy where all the income gains for working people are going to be given back, but prices will continue to climb as well.

We don't get to talk about on the RCMB, but the cult of *ichigan is so eerily similar to MAGA the Ven diagram is a perfect circle. Kind of puts things into perspective, politics became like rooting for your favorite sports team, and fans will excuse anything if their team wins.

working poor.

And no one in the R party cares about them. At. All.

And yet, a whole bunch of them would NEVER vote for anything other than a hate-filled Repug, even to make their own situation better.

But the working poor made the biggest gains under Biden of any group and the biggest gains they’ve made in generations. Their wage growth easily outpaced inflation, more had health care. People were saving.

now the supports for the ladder have been chopped away....they're going to fall harder and faster than those farther up.

And yet, far too many will blame Democrats for this shit show we're moving into.

The GOP has made it much more difficult to get the help people will need to keep a roof over their heads.

It's going to get really ugly and millions of people are going to be desperate.
