(18,989 posts)They are only required to pay for vaccines under the ACA if they were approved by ACIP. Which this was not.
radical noodle
(10,689 posts)but you'd think an insurance company would prefer to pay for a shot rather than hospital care if you got covid. Of course, that would require them to overlook short term gain for long-term savings and I'm not sure they're geared that way.
Edited to add: Maybe your doctor would give you a prescription?

(6,074 posts)That will be a major factor in getting vaccinated particularly federal programs like Medicare.

That unfortunately is a thing.
Don't tell magats!
I read on another forum where someone inquired about the cost for the Covid vaccine and was quoted a price of $225.

(17,728 posts)Not for me so much since I am on Medicare with a supplement but I hope everyone can afford to get it and that it's available.
I think they should ask everyone who they voted for first
I'm only half joking. We've got our own contingent of MAGAts here.
I got both flu and Covid yesterday.
When I asked how long they had been giving Covid shots, I was told yesterday was the second day. This was at Walgreens.

We opened early and had one of the highest death rates in the country. Covid Kimmy likes to say we had fewer people die than blue places like California or New York but ignores that deaths per 100k residents in Iowa was much higher, we just have a lot fewer people.
Can't wait to see them proudly show off the iron lung ward during the college football game.

It's so important to have leaders like this, and what's more, most of them are happy to serve. They want to do the right thing for the American people.
And look at what trump gives us. The least accomplished and most foolish among us.

(29,214 posts)that any American can walk into a pharmacy today to get a COVID shot, I was being told by my local pharmacist that I could not get a shot today because they haven't had clear guidance. She hoped it would be available soon.
Today the state of Colorado says vaccines are available to all.

Scrivener7
(60,071 posts)The appointment site for CVS asks if you have a medical condition that requires the vaccine. They only ask you yes or no. They don't ask you which condition you have. I was planning to sign up and then if they asked when I went for the shot, I'd just tell them my BMI was over 25.
What do they know?

(1,896 posts)...except that the CDC compiles that data and they'll likely step on the numbers.
Sailingdiver
(373 posts)will just stop reporting the data. Then they'll be able to claim "see no increase in vaccine preventable diseases when we gave everyone medical freedumb". And, the smart people will see right through the nonsense and the cult, right on cue, will be "I knew it, the vaccines only made me sick".

(77,277 posts)As completely expected, states with the highest vaccination rates had a lower rate of hospitalizations & deaths even when the virus was at its raging peak.
