Biden recently had skin cancer procedure, spokesperson says

Former President Joe Biden recently had Mohs surgery, according to a Biden spokesperson. Mohs surgery is a common procedure used to treat skin cancer.

According to the Mayo Clinic, "This surgery involves cutting away thin layers of skin. Each thin layer is looked at closely for signs of cancer. The process keeps going until there are no signs of cancer."

Biden was recently spotted around Delaware with a bandage on his head. The Daily Mail reported on footage of Biden leaving a church in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, in which the bandage is visible.

Biden has had previous skin cancer procedures. During his February 2023 physical, he had a lesion removed from his chest that was later confirmed as a basal cell carcinoma. According to his doctor at the time, Dr. Kevin O'Connor, all the cancerous tissue was removed and no further treatment was required. O'Connor said that Biden would "continue dermatologic surveillance as part of his ongoing comprehensive healthcare."

I used to be a sun bunny when I was young and growing up here, we were always outside long before sun block was even a thing. These days, I’m in the shade and very aware of the time of day..11-3 are times to be careful. No more beach days turning over every 15 minutes like I’m on a rotisserie. Doesn’t matter where you live, tho. Get yourself checked because anyone can get skin cancer. President Biden put his info out and we can all learn from his experience.

3. My hubby had malignant melanoma where there the sun don't shine! And hubby ain't white either.

8. While the less serious skin cancers are from sun

Many studies blame chemicals & toxins as contributing to melanoma.

NM where the sun always shines has low melanoma cases while northern greyer US has most cases.

I had an interesting experience with melanoma on my upper arm. i had a month before surgery - so I decided to peel it down with 50% glycolic aciid before surgery Dr cut deep about a half inch “to makesure she got it all”
Labs came back that there was no sign of melanoma. So either the biopsy got it or I peeled it off. Now at the slight of a weird spot on my skin, I zap it with acid. My friend’s dermatologist gave her a deep skin peel because she kept getting pre cancerous spots on her face. That gave me the idea.


My dad had melanoma and he NEVER went in the sun - it was right below his waist - a spot that never saw the sun in his whole life.

7. I have the same problem and I'm younger than Joe Biden

I've had a half-dozen skin cancers removed without incident or further problems. The Mohs is the go-to for basal-cell and squamous skin cancer. The only surgery-surgery I've had was for a small melanoma on my shoulder. They cut that one out in January. The incision was 5x the size of the lesion to make sure everything was gone.

Still kicking.

This runs in my family, fair-skinned Irish ancestry. Catching it early is what it's all about.
