Conservatives and MAGAs keep posting that gas prices have declined since Trump became president, which isn’t true, of course. The day Trump took office, the average price for regular gas in the US was $3.12 per gallon. Today, it’s $3.20 per gallon according to AAA.

Also interesting: on this date last year the average price was $3.30. It won’t be long until we’ll be seeing that gas was cheaper a year ago. I like to post stuff like that on Threads to get the MAGAs in a snit. 😃

it won't be just gas prices that go up. Everything will be revalued. All assets and inputs. He is grabbing assets, minting bitcoin, and profiting from the devaluation. We are all going broke in the process.

At my local station it was 2.59 on election day last year. Today it’s 2.89.

6. I remember

I remember seeing so many conservative memes last year during the election showing that gas was like $1.60 when Trump was in office and it had doubled or more under Biden. I got tired of correcting the fact that it was because of Covid and not trump that they were that low. Election Day I remember seeing someone post “it’s Election Day! Remember to set your gas prices back to $1.60 and interest rates to below 4%”

$3.39 this morning without having to go out of my way during my morning commute.

The metro average one year ago was $3.45
