She has been in the hospital a couple of times over the last three months. Once with Covid where they gave an IV with a drug that my oldest knew about. She is scheduled for a stent next week. There was a group who were dropping off food for her. I will be making runs to Costco for her after she is back home.

Susan saw her cardiologist yesterday and they are planning to do a value replacement which may leave her with normal COPD but with far less shortness of breath. A week from next Monday, she goes into a clinic and they put a catheter into her arm and inject dye to look at the heart. They can put stents in at that time if they need to. A couple of weeks later they will evaluate her veins to see if they are in good enough shape for the valve replacement. A couple of weeks after that they will do the valve replacement through her groin. The surgeon is one of the top surgeons (Susan could not remember his name) and this surgery will be done as a "teaching" surgery at the local hospital named for the surgeon.

Susan has talked to a couple people who have done this surgery and the difference is amazing. These people were in bad shape and had trouble with the stairs up from the sidewalk to the house. Now this person can go up three flights of stairs with no trouble. Susan will still have COPD and will need oxygen.

Susan's grandson, Ben, is already planning on a cruise for them to take after this is all done. I teased Susan that with normal COPD, she could go to Disney with Ben.

My youngest and I may need to run errands and stay with her at times while she recovers.
