I was still a moderate Republican with a side interest in Bill Buckley libertarianism when RFK Sr. was assassinated,

but I was deeply and genuinely saddened because I liked him, too. I would much rather have seen him run against Tricky Dick than Happy Hubird and his politics of joy. I think RFK Sr. could have beaten Nixon and I would have been happy to see it happen. Still, I have to be glad he's not around to see his out-of-control Jr. There must have been hurricane when Jr. was born because he definitely fell far from the tree.

But I have to tell you I can’t forgive you for what you did all all those years ago… moderate Republican, right.

in order to win the election. He still felt that his brother (JFK) stole the 1960 election from him and didn't want history to repeat itself.

Why I don't see it as a conspiracy: B/c Nixon went to the President of S. Vietnam not to end the war because he would give SV a better deal if he won.
