Florida Surgeon General wants to make polio great again

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but yesterday, Florida's Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo said the state will be working to remove ALL vaccine mandates for children entering school — a practice that scientists say has helped diseases like polio move toward eradication.

Ladapo even related the mandates to slavery, saying during a press conference, "All of them. All of them... Every last one of them is wrong and drips with disdain and slavery... Who am I as a government or anyone else, who am I as a man standing here now, to tell you what you should put in your body?"

My grandfather survived polio as a young child. But his body suffered greatly, a twisted spin and bad foot. When I read or hear the word polio, I instantly remember what he looked like walking.

My dad and his siblings were all vaccinated as soon as the polio vaccine was available.

These anti-vax fuckers are in many ways more dangerous than Putin.
