that preclude the need for an informant?

(76,703 posts)...wouldn't it encourage releasing the files? That would prove the "hoax".
But, they don't want to do that. I wonder why.
Justice matters.
(9,787 posts)tapes that would be hard to claim they are AI-generated because "AI" did not even "exists" at the time they were recorded.
Pedo felon is scared of them being made public so he hopes to con the gullible maga voters again because he's an expert at that (the only thing he's an expert of apart from scamming them over and over again while they lose their small businesses).

(130,533 posts)If he he had been an FBI informant against Epstein, why wouldn't he have said so and even bragged about it? Since Epstein is dead and the case against him permanently shelved, why wouldn't he exalt himself as the guy who helped bring that evildoer to justice? It's quite possible that the FBI might have interviewed him at some point during the Florida investigation that resulted in Acosta's sweetheart plea deal, and maybe he's one of the unnamed people in the non-prosecution agreement that was part of that deal? The FBI often immunizes coconspirators in exchange for cooperation and information. If that's what happened, of course he doesn't want to talk about it, but why would Mike Johnson make that claim when everyone knows the FBI flips coconspirators?
And if the whole thing is just a "Democrat hoax," why doesn't he order the files released so we can see that it's a hoax? If the files name a bunch of Democrats as among Epstein's "clients," that would be an even more compelling reason for him to do it. So why doesn't he do it?
Whatever is in those files must be so bad - probably involving not only sexual acts with minors but participation in Epstein's money laundering and international sex trafficking schemes - that Trump is willing to risk incurring the wrath of MAGA. He probably didn't know what the FBI really had on him until Bondi had the FBI scour the files for his name, or else he had either enough influence to avoid prosecution or a nonprosecution deal in exchange for cooperation - but now he does know and he's willing to move heaven and earth to keep them under wraps.

(4,464 posts)What if the FBI was conducting surveillance due to Maria Farmer's complaint? What if TSF was caught and FBI offered him a deal to inform on the Epstein trafficking scheme? TSF would take the deal in a heartbeat. I think it's either that or when TSF told Epstein he wanted a cut of the profits and Epstein refused, TSF went to the FBI. Though that would involve risking his own butt. I think the former idea has more logic. Either way, Epstein told Michael Wolfe he believed TSF was the one who tipped off the FBI.

(9,996 posts)Not to mention the fact that Maria Farmer called the FBI in 1996 and the FBI didn't investigate until 2006. The Palm Beach police didn't even investigate until 2005.
I know you're not trying to defend Trump, so don't twist yourself in knots trying to think of a rational explanation for Trump's rantings. Trump never went to the FBI about Epstein's sex trafficking. If Trump ever talked to the FBI about Epstein, it was about financial crimes and money laundering. This claim is just another figment of Trump's imagination.

(4,464 posts)I would NEVER, EVER in a million years defend that scumbag! I completely believe Katie Johnson's account that he raped a 12-year old girl and then complained about her performance.

(9,495 posts)an agreement to cooperate as a response to a threat would be against character for Trump. Even if it was federal law enforcement, Trump would want to become the aggressor and turn the tables using attorneys.
If Trump tipped off the FBI, I think it was more likely some act of revenge born from frustration.

(132,440 posts)with all their bullshit about democrats being the sick sexual predators, the trumpublicans never realized that this scandal, like an angry pit bull, will turn on you. while trump is president, we most likely will not discover the people and the organizations involved in these crimes. the republican party now requires its an oath of omerta to be taken by every member of the magafia.
