O'Keefe Media Group published a covertly recorded video on Sept. 3, 2025, in which Joseph Schnitt, a Department of Justice staffer, told a woman he was on a date with that the department would redact every Republican or conservative person before releasing the Epstein files. Schnitt and the DOJ both acknowledged the footage in separate statements and did not question its authenticity. However, Snopes could not independently verify whether Schnitt's statements in the footage were true.
In September 2025, a claim (archived) circulated online that a U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) deputy chief said the department would "redact every Republican or conservative person" before releasing its files on the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

(3,263 posts)It seems that he expects to be fired soon and was eager to get this message out. If so, it is more of an intentional leak, or whistle blowing activity, then some kind of news flash from O'Keefe.
Nonetheless, we should applaud people doing the right thing, even if they have been unscrupulous enablers of the fascists heretofore. Maybe they are coming to realize the errors of their ways, or maybe they have some other agenda. Whatever, if it helps expose the WHOLE STORY, which is vast and far more than just some old men having sex with young ladies, that is a good thing.
If Dems are caught up in this, so be it. But we must have zero tolerance for any redactions, other than as necessary to protect innocent victims.
