Franklin Roosevelt inherited a nation in an economic depression and a world in turmoil. The current situation is nothing like that and comparisons to then are facile. The author of the editorial chooses to ignore it for reasons only known to him.

I'm really tiring of these comparisons. FDR saved capitalism from itself. As to crises TACO created most of em. Ditto for Lincon comparisons.
