The South Korean "immigration bust" doesn't make sense to me

I am hesitant to quote Brandon Buck (R political analyst on MSNBC) but he just summarized how I've been feeling. First, the Hyundai factory was sought after by the Republican Gov. of Georgia as an investment in the United States economy. Second, South Korea is an ally of the U'S. If there were problems, the US could have easily approached the SK govt to resolve whatever issues exist.

As Buck pointed out, the company is an ally and is building a factory in Georgia at the invitation of the Republican Governor. It will provide jobs to Americans and spur the Georgia economy. The "illegals" involved were probably engineers from SK advising in the project. What country is going to want to invest in the US if this is how they are treated?

You know, I'm starting to think that trump and his goons have no idea what they're doing.

It's not supposed to make sense, to be something which is rational and predictable.

The goal is chaos in order to cause fear so that people will accept top-down authoritarian control.

but I am a very stubborn person. I can't stop pointing out the failure of the corporate media and why and how this administration's actions are wrong. I can't help but feel that pointing these things like this out and encouraging others to do is better than just shrugging and looking away. But then I could be wrong. It wouldn't be the first time.

Part of what stopped US atrocities in The Philippines was writers like Mark Twain calling them out. Part of what stopped the war in Viet Nam was the media showing the body bags every evening. Emmet Till's Mother had his body brought back to Chicago and had an open casket funeral and this was a huge step in the Civil Rights movement.

It seems to be lacking, especially among the beltway journalists assigned to cover this administration. Nevertheless, I am not as discouraged as I probably sound. I don't think he is fooling enough people to be able to succeed with everything he is trying to do.

But the claim is that those arrested/detained fall into two groups: those with overstayed visas and those who entered the US without a visa.

True or not, that's the claim I heard. (Or maybe it's incomplete.)

TACO is shaking- down both domestic and international corporations , US colleges, states and cities. The TACO mobster criminal syndicate is now targeting foreign countries and foreign corporations. He will threaten everyone and he gets away with it,

He may want ownership in Hyundai or a commitment to build a TACO golf resort in South Korea, etc.

He showed them that he can stop their factory and bring them to their knees. So, they have to PAY to Play!

You’re just starting to think that? Well, it’s good I guess that you’re finally getting it. Has been apparent to me for quite awhile (like, early in his first term). Or, hopefully, you’re being sarcastic.

Those idiots have no ability to think ahead of potential consequences, on anything they do. Sure seems to me like everything they do is knee-jerk reaction primarily based on hatred of “others”.

Allegedly, the apprehended workers at Hyundai have overstayed their visas. And being non-white, easy targets to help meet ICE quotas… consequences be damned.

If the workers at the factory truly were undocumented—and that's a big "if," since we can't trust a damned word from the Trump Regime—then a lot of people in positions of authority had to look the other way. Knowing when and how to look the other way is a whole lot easier when someone is handing you plain brown envelopes full of cash.

He also hates Georgia for declaring Biden won the state.
Do you remember Trump demanding that Georgia find him 12000 votes in Georgia in 2020 and declare him winner.

Georgia will never be forgiven even though the corrupt Republican power structure in Georgia managed to make the solid case against him disappear.

Georgia is Arkansas with better PR.
