Dump needs to be impeached. He killed 11 people illegally and comitted a war crime.

He needs to be impeached for this. If he is not he will do it again and if he doesn't have to follow the law will do it to us sooner or later. I'm betting sooner.
He needs to be impeached.
Now.

Just to make sure everyone knows the context.

But it will have to wait until after the midterms.

And, despite the ultimate futility of the exercise. if the Dems refuse to pursue multiple impeachments, they don’t deserve to regain the House majority.

It took one girl to videotape George Floyd being killed and changed things everywhere. It took one march on a bridge to change everything. It took Boston standing up to a king to change everything. Small things add up. They weren't done by people who said to go with the status quo, that things would not change. They were done by people that said enough. I have said enough.
Enough.
Keep on keeponing.

Sun Sep 7, 2025, 12:11 AM

Because since the GOP runs the House there needs to be a push among Republican members. Nothing the Democrats can do gets anywhere until you peel off a few Republicans, and that isn't happening. It's one thing to get a few to sign onto a discharge petition, but it's another to get them to vote for impeaching Trump.

Thomas Massie of Kentucky and Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania, Marlin Stutzman, Republican of Indiana, Representative Andy Ogles of Tennessee. There is four. That being said I DGAF if they do or don't. What are you going to do? Sit there and let this happen becasue you don't think its possible? There is right and wrong and I will let my rep and congressperson know wtf I think and everyone I know. This is beyond wrong and will come back to bite us if we dont take a stand. It will be us.

but based on House Republicans' fealty to Trump,
and their dedication to judging 'the rule of law' based upon partisanship,
I'd have to consider it unlikely to happen---

until Democrats take back the House in 2026!
And we WILL, regardless of the GQP's gerrymandering desperation tactics!

But unless a lot of Senate Republicans experience a 'come to Jesus' moment,
conviction is very unlikely....

HOWEVER, Trump re-wrote presidential impeachment history in 2021,
when for the first time in U.S. history, some members of the U.S. Senate voted to convict
a president of their own party....

In every previous Senate trial
of an impeached (charged) President,
the Senate vote had always been strictly upon party lines....

but in the (2nd) 2021 impeachment trial against Trump, six GOP senators voted to convict him. That made history.

All of this is in stark contrast to the Nixon era---
where a large group of Republican congressional members met with him to
urge him to RESIGN from the office, which he did, before the full House even had the chance
to vote on impeachment (but the House Judiciary committee had voted to advance the charges against Nixon)

(Back when there was still a shred of honor among congressional Republicans....)

((and Trump has already gone far beyond Nixon's crimes....hell, he's a convicted f*cking FELON
before he even got elected again!))

There are 222 Republicans and 218 Democrats in the House. It only takes a majority to impeach. If we get 3 republicans to vote with us he is impeached again. 3 out of 222. That is possible. Then the Senate. Even if we lose in the Senate it will tell Dump that what he is doing is going to far and he is close to being booted. We have to do this because if we don't the next target will be Americans.
Impeach now.

All laughs aside, yes, you are correct. But its over 20 years later and there is a lot different now. Bush made it different. I dont know any so-called republicans now that will defend what Bush did. Besides that I don't care. Bush declared war and Congress authorized it, wrong as all that was Congress gave him that power. Like our Constitution says. Dump has not been granted that power and is running against it. Huge difference. I cant stand for this and neither should anyone who knows the Constitution!! This is an extra-judicial war crime that is illegal per the Constitution and he needs to be charged for it or he will take the next step and commit it against us. This is not a political thing, this is a our Country thing.

meaning he was not convicted by the Senate and removed. But impeachment itself is important for history and posterity's sake; it's a protest by Congress to say this is unconstitutional conduct. That lays down a marker for future presidents, and it is important in and of itself.

This was the first president impeached twice. The second one peeled off members of his own party. That's why Johnson won't bring it up again, unless he is forced: there is a real danger of the tipping point being reached as the conduct becomes more lawless and conditions more dire.

The questions of should he or will he be impeached are two different ones. No doubt he deserves it. Things would need to get even worse before a Republican majority brings it up. The question of Senate removal by two-thirds is another, much higher bar. And whether it is politically advantageous for us is yet another question, which I believe is much less important for the country, but worth considering.

Ironically, it might take something not explicitly unconstitutional but politically untenable to prod the Republicans to dump him: explicit evidence of child rape. That's because Republicans love power more than the country or Constitution, sadly.

Some are already receiving death threats and their families are under threat. Plus they know the Senate doesn't have enough who would vote to impeach because the same dynamics apply to the Senate. You heard Lisa Murkowski on video, I imagine. The fear is real.

23. War of words
Sat Sep 6, 2025, 10:55 PM
Sep 2025

It has become too common since at least the Reagan days (daze) to declare war on "things, ideas, and concepts".

The "War on Terror", the "War on Crime", and the "War on Drugs" being only a few.

It is to be supposed that this makes imposing "our" ideas upon these concepts sound more dramatic, more serious, and more efficient.

Semantics begs to differ. Words and their meanings are only words spoken, written, or thought, not the actual object, the actual happenings, or the actual events being spoken, written or thought of.

These exist in reality, not only as sounds, pages, or memories. We use words to describe, explain, and relate to things to other things, even when they are completely unrelated.
