Lynn police also acknowledged a video on social media depicting the officer becoming incapacitated while working. The department said, amid the ongoing investigation, the officer appeared to have "experienced a medical related episode."

Police didn't share the officer's name, when the incident took place or information on the video that prompted Friday's statement. They said their review involved body camera footage and discussions with medical professionals.

"While we do not typically comment on ongoing investigations, we believe it is important to address public concern," the statement said.

The investigation will review any potential contributing factor, police said, noting that placing the officer on leave until the outcome of the investigation follows department policy.

Need to be fired. Inexcusable. Lynn is not being served and protected by these thugs who violated their oath.

It’s not just a few bad apples as the badge-sniffers claim. If that were truly more honest/honorable officers than bullies, the bullies wouldn’t survive past their probationary periods.

He's on a double shift and has back pain. Nope that's not what really tired and in pain looks like. That's what higher than fuck looks like.

Almost the same senerio at my job. A young man was always sick. The co workers were all, he's a drunk. One night he had an episode at work. Told him I was going to call an ambulance or he could have someone get him. And go to the doctor. Turns out he had impacted bowels that required emergency surgery. That was what had made him sick the whole time.

I somehow doubt those officers would have fallen all over themselves making excuses for John or Jane Q. Public in the same circumstances or taken such pains to get us all comfy in the cruiser.

He would be in nowhere land, while I was trying to control a situation while worrying about my own safety.

Their safety, as well as the publics' depends on everyone being able to function to the best of their ability.
