Trump Discovers Rejection on the World Stage — Because of His ‘Weak Mind’: Analysis
by Adam Lynch | September 7, 2025 - 5:12am

— from Alternet

snip//

Former U.S. Ambassador to Russia Michael McFaul tells DeVega that Trump is “weakening American military alliances, and gutting the international economic institutions, including … the World Trade Organization, that used to facilitate trade and investment between capitalist economies in the Cold War.”

And while Trump’s indifference drives “small d” democratic nations to look elsewhere for allies, University of Chicago associate professor Paul Poast says Trump “could even be waking up to the limits of his international influence.”

“I don’t think Trump is going to swoon Putin. Moreover, as he indicated in a Truth Social post, I think he recognizes as much,” Poast said.

The Lincoln Project chief of staff Ryan Wiggins says the U.S. would not be the first empire brought down by an ignoramus.

“Trump has a child’s understanding of the world and is driven by ego and whatever impulses come into his weak mind,” Wiggins told Salon. “It’s causing the U.S. economy to burn as he pursues trade and economic policies that are completely unworkable and destroys U.S. leadership on the global stage. And he’s doing a lot of it to distract from the Epstein files.”

And the GOP’s role in aiding and abetting the loss of American prestige and power on the world stage should not be ignored, added Wiggins.

That is a great way to put it. I don’t know what happened to him at a young age, but it seems to have brought his emotional and cognitive development to a screeching halt.

There must be some innate predilection in play, too. Lots of children go through really tough times and don't become sociopathic malignant narcissists.

SO convinced, that he became completely adverse to any degree of knowledge that wasn't already known to him.
He became a fortress of imbecility.

I've long bemoaned the fact that he just can't, or won't learn anything new!

People mature by facing challenges and discovering their powers so that they can function on their own in a challenging world. Driving tests, first job interviews, school exams, asking someone out on a date, etc., these all prepare us for adulthood. When these things are just handed to you, or won by cheating in some way, but you are still afforded the powers and privileges of adulthood, you can become a very dangerous person.

This is a guy who had others take his tests for him. He has never studied anything seriously.

Name any field where he has ever shown any level of expertise. Even real estate, where he has gone bankrupt many times.

Meanwhile, 30% of this country believes in witchcraft, ghosts, and reincarnation. But they can tell you the football scores.

So he finished his childhood, adolecence and adulthood with two very cold, distant and emotionally unavailable parents. He parked his butt in front of the TV and soothed himself with endless hours of fantasy and food. So TV ended up playing a greatly outsized role in his life both in his worldview and the distortion of what he thinks of as “real.” He was left with an unhealthy body and mind, and he learned both to hate himself and to conceal that hate by directing it outwards.

Classic psychopath. Propped up by the oligarchs who are also psychopaths. I don't understand why so many folks keep trying to "spin" that fact. Except possibly for clicks because we now live in a world of information monetization.

Cut to the chase. He’s a man with a diseased brain. What's so hard about admitting that?

Characteristics of Psychopaths

2. Complete absence of conscience and empathy
3. Very adept at manipulating others
4. Willingness to engage in immoral, criminal conduct
5. Willingness to take what they want and do as they please, regardless of who is hurt or wronged
6. Deceptive ability to appear outwardly benevolent

Do Republicans not realize that thanks to Trump, Republicans will not win another major election for at least a decade? They do what Trump tells them to but it is bringing about their own destruction. It is political suicide.

Trump is nothing more than a preening know-nothing vengeful clown...he is the embodiment of the Dunning-Kruger effect..incompetent/low intelligence/ignorant of of his own ignorance/perceives himself as the smartest guy in the room...his narrow world view is that of dealmaking and he regards himself as the ultimate dealmaker when, in fact, he's a disaster...geopolitical leaders have his number...appeal to his inflated ego and he'll give "away the farm" in his pathetic attempt to be a member of the bad guys club...but even the evilest of dictators are aware he is not a serious man...so they pat him on the head, laugh at his obscene jokes, take their parting gifts (our top secrets/permission to invade and occupy neighboring countries) and then ignore him/not invite him/no seat at the adults table....
